Fast Facts: USL Cup

Louisville City FC clinched their second Eastern Conference Championship on Friday with a 5-1 win over the New York Red Bulls II. The win sends LouCity to the USL Cup for the second-straight year, becoming only the second team to do so (Swope Park Rangers, 2016-17).

 

Scouting Phoenix Rising FC
Phoenix became Western Conference champions for the first time in club history on Saturday night, defeating top-seed Orange County SC, 2-1. Rising FC is led by Premier League titleholder and former Golden Boot winner Didier Drogba, who will be playing in his final professional soccer match on Thursday night. Forward Chris Cortez leads the offensive efforts for Rising FC with 19 goals on the season. 

 

Louisville City Playoff Scoring
Louisville has had its most productive scoring playoffs in club history in 2018 and still has one match remaining in the season. The 11 goals scored so far in the playoffs top the previous high of 7 goals in four games in 2017. The 11 goals are also the most scored so far in the playoffs in the USL. Louisville has had six different goal scorers in the playoffs, the most of all teams in the playoffs this season.
